PROFILE: Dark Roast. Full body, earthy with low acidity and intense sweet tones of chocolate.
REGION: Mandheling. Grown on the slopes of Mount Leuser, a volcano near the port of Padang, in the Batak area of Aceh. That area is also known as one of the most ancient and bio-rich ecosystems on the planet.
PROCESS: Wet-hulled which is not to be confused with washed method. It is mainly used in very humid environments where the husks are removed at a greater moisture level, and it requires a special machine strong enough to handle this type of processing.
